In 2005 my wife and I were walking in an area due west, and a few miles from, the airport in San Antonio, TX. 
At one point I look to my left and see several jets taking off. I don't remember how many took off together.
But I do remember that one was ahead of the other two jets. All 3 were white without markings and very large
commercial jets.

The first, and most bizarre, part of this whole episode, that I noticed, was how the jets were taking off. 
For a second or so I saw them sitting as if they were rockets; standing straight up and down. I've been 
around many airports, and even worked on air bases; and I've never seen a jet from that angle. I don't know
if this was an optical illusion or not. But the notion that you could even see a jet from that angle, is,
in my mind, ludicrous. If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes, I would never have believed it possible.

Anyway, I saw all three take off and then fly perfectly parallel paths/patterns across the sky. And they all
led trails of light grey/white smoke behind them that persisted. 

This wasn't the first time that I've seen what I believed to be chem-trails. But it was the first and only
time that I've seen them being laid down.
