The Western Ghost Conference of 6/12/98-6/14/98 held at the haunted town of Skykomish, Washington.

Not too much unlike Estes Park, Colorado, the first thing I noticed there was the great beauty and 360 degrees of mountains surrounding the place.

I had already viewed all of the photos on the ghostweb.com site (in the gallery sections) and so was prepared for seeing orbs and such. I was a little dissapointed in not seeing a full body apparition like the impressive lady at the end of the bed in Dave and Sharon's #4 gallery. I talked to Sharon and she said that in the years she has investigated ghosts that she has only seen 1 full body apparition.

Dave and Sharon both gave very informative talks about how to investigate ghosts and what the after life might be like.

Chris Peterson of the UTAH GHOST HUNTERS SOCIETY graciously allowed us to listen to a few of his EVP recordings. Some of them seemed quite clear.

Most everyone who had a camera was able to get orb photos. I can confirm that one gentleman wasn't getting any photos untill he asked permission and then was getting them consistently.

Since the 0 lux, essentially a night vision, videocamera was just released onto the market the week prior to this conference we were probably the first ghost investigators on the planet to record on videotape orbs flying around at incredible speeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One lady digitally video recorded an unmistakable, and quite large, orb that was obviously showing off for the camera as it moved momentarily in a pattern within the frame of the videocamera. I've never seen better ghost evidence anywhere. None of us (that I am aware of) could see the orbs with the naked eye, though ALL of the videocameras were picking them up; even the ones that weren't 0 lux cameras. [Some people did claim to sense them at certain points.] And, of course, most, if not all, of the still cameras were getting them. These were primarily digital cameras; so we could see the results instantly, though the resolution was lower to conserve disk space.

I and 3 others went the furthest into the train snow shed/tunnel, which is 1.5 miles long. This was on the 2nd trip into it; so we didn't get the priveledge of seeing the yellow eyes. I did talk with one gentleman (using night vision goggles), other than Dave, who confirmed seeing the yellow eyes from the previous day's trip into the very dark train tunnel. Dave said he was only into the tunnel about 20 feet when he saw the eyes. We went in probably half the length of the tunnel and, unfortunately, didn't see any eyes. Dave says that he believes that was a Bigfoot. As hard as that is for most people to believe, I don't doubt the strong probability that he is correct. My 2 close encounters have proven to me that UFOs exist. Bigfoot can't be that much more bizarre than these can it?

On our trip around the town (on Friday night) I got my first experience with using night vision goggles. They were the most expensive 3rd generation type. They made the otherwise invisible stars visible. Until you get away from the city you really can't do them justice though. Unfortunately the lady who brought them didn't bring them when we went into the 1.5 mile long dark train snow shed tunnel. In the almost complete darkness of the tunnel they would have been really awesome to use, unlike on the town streets.

If you have the bucks to attend the Utah Ghost Convention you should definitely jump on the chance. To be able to confirm with still and video cameras the existence of ghosts is definitely an experience not to be missed. Check at the ghostweb site for details about that convention. If you show up tell Dave you found his site from my page.
