1) Boot to DOS

2) type at windows DIR:

regedit /L:system.1st /E My.Reg

this will merge the very first registry ever created and fix the corrupted registry and basically refresh everything inside the Regisrty: Noting that it WILL NOT HARM THE DEVICES OR OTHER Software Loaded on the system. so you won't have to reinstall them.
